The Danish Ambassador to Norway visits Horisont Energi

Friday 2 October 2020 Horisont Energi had the honour and pleasure of receiving Jarl Frijs-Madsen, the Danish Ambassador to Norway to our head offices. The Danish Ambassador visited Stavanger this week and met up with our CEO Bjørgulf Haukelidsæter Eidesen, CFO Dan Jarle Flølo and COO Eivind Torheim. In the meeting Horisont Energi presented the company’s strategy and business plans. The future of energy and viable paths to achieve the climate goals was discussed. Horisont Energi would like to thank the Danish Ambassador for an inspiring meeting and we are looking forward to continued interaction with our existing Danish counterparties and the Danish Embassy. Denmark is a strong player on the field of climate mitigation and the low-carbon economy.
Talking with H.R.H. the Norwegian Crown Prince about hydrogen and CCS

Our employee Ida met with H.R.H. the Crown Prince Haakon and leaders, employees, and union representatives at the Stavanger Chamber of Commerce. After short presentations, the meeting focused on how Covid-19 has effected everyday life and lead to the current state of unemployment in the region. The conversation focused then on the energy transition required to stay relevant in the future, and how the technology and experiences made so far will help us in the transition. The future of oil, gas, hydrogen, ammonia, offshore wind, and CCS was also discussed. We at Horisont Energi want to thank Crown Prince Haakon for his visit!
Horisont Energi celebrates its 1 year anniversary

Today it is one year since Horisont Energi was established. This was duly celebrated in the offices with cakes and coffee and a walk along the one year long memory lane. Much has happened since the early days. The company has grown to a total of 11 employees, and have completed the first phase of the organisational development. In addition, the company is engaged in cooperation with several companies both nationally and abroad. There are also other positive news to be festive about these days, such as a grant from Innovasjon Norge to perform a CCS project focused on key legal and commercial matters that need to be solved in order to commercialise BECCS at scale. Another positive development is the offering of a loan from Innovasjon Norge enabling Horisont Energi to perform a 3 million NOK CCS project focused on subsurface storage and CO2 injection. GreenCap Solutions and Horisont Energi signs cooperation agreement

Today 30 April 2020, GreenCap Solutions and Horisont Energi have signed a cooperation agreement in order to develop a joint business within direct air carbon capture and storage (DACCS). The two companies will jointly assess business opportunities and potential projects in order to realise a DACCS value chain. GreenCap Solutions will be responsible for the capture facilities and Horisont Energi will be responsible for transport and storage. «The carbon economy offers opportunities to the early movers and those that can create attractive business models and value chains», says CEO in Horisont Energi Bjørgulf Haukelidsæter Eidesen. «We look forward to cooperating with GreenCap Solutions», he concludes.
Funding for CCS pre-project awarded by Innovasjon Norge

Horisont Energi was awarded funding from Innovasjon Norge for a pre-project where the basis for a CCS value chain shall be matured. Europe has high ambitions for CCS and many countries are working systematically towards this goal. Horisont Energi is looking into negative emission technologies (NET) as a key to mitigate global warming. «To achieve the 1.5 or 2 degree target, there is no scenario that does not require NET», says Horisont Energi CEO Bjørgulf Haukelidsæter Eidesen. Horisont Energi completes first round of funding

Horisont Energi has completed the first funding round, and is moving forward according to plan. The team is pleased with the positive response from the investors. The next funding round is planned around summer 2020.
New Board of Directors

From January 1, Horisont Energi has a new board of directors. The Board of Directors consist of Kåre Johannes Lie as chair of the Board, with Rolf Magne Larsen and Bjørgulf Haukelidsæter Eidesen as Board members.
