GreenCap Solutions and Horisont Energi signs cooperation agreement

Today 30 April 2020, GreenCap Solutions and Horisont Energi have signed a cooperation agreement in order to develop a joint business within direct air carbon capture and storage (DACCS). The two companies will jointly assess business opportunities and potential projects in order to realise a DACCS value chain. GreenCap Solutions will be responsible for the capture facilities and Horisont Energi will be responsible for transport and storage. «The carbon economy offers opportunities to the early movers and those that can create attractive business models and value chains», says CEO in Horisont Energi Bjørgulf Haukelidsæter Eidesen. «We look forward to cooperating with GreenCap Solutions», he concludes.
Funding for CCS pre-project awarded by Innovasjon Norge

Horisont Energi was awarded funding from Innovasjon Norge for a pre-project where the basis for a CCS value chain shall be matured. Europe has high ambitions for CCS and many countries are working systematically towards this goal. Horisont Energi is looking into negative emission technologies (NET) as a key to mitigate global warming. «To achieve the 1.5 or 2 degree target, there is no scenario that does not require NET», says Horisont Energi CEO Bjørgulf Haukelidsæter Eidesen. Horisont Energi has completed the first funding round, and is moving forward according to plan. The team is pleased with the positive response from the investors. The next funding round is planned around summer 2020.
